Trader Vic's, the tiki brand founded in Oakland, now has a full-service restaurant in Terminal 2 at Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport, near Gate 25. It seats more than 100 people and has an OAK-only cocktail called "The Rooted Road," inspired by Oakland-born Rocky Road ice cream.
Next door, Plum Market sells made-from-scratch meals, salads, sandwiches and a hot bar. Both are run by Hudson. The airport held a grand opening on Oct. 15 with Mayor Barbara Lee and Rep. Lateefah Simon.
The Oaklandside's opening roundup also listed Elmwood Subs at 2992 College Ave. in Berkeley, Jjamppong Zizon at 702 A St. in Hayward, and Liquified Juicery inside Emeryville Public Market.
