The Town of Ross will elect two council members on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Four candidates qualified, according to the town's election page.
Who is running
- Julie McMillan, the incumbent. She filed July 21 and qualified July 22.
- Robert Herbst, listed by the county as a real estate executive. He filed and qualified July 16.
- Paul Roesler, a business executive. He was the first to file, on July 14.
- Jeff Kuhn, listed by the county as Ross town treasurer. He filed and qualified Aug. 12.
The race has been heated. Earlier this month we covered texts from the mayor that flagged rivals' campaign signs the night before 40 of them came down.
Measure U: paramedic tax
Ross voters will also see Measure U, which would continue the Ross Valley Paramedic Authority parcel tax for four more years, from fiscal 2027-28 through 2030-31. The town says the residential rate would be $107.50 per dwelling unit in 2027-28, and the council could approve yearly increases of up to $4. It needs two-thirds approval to pass. The town says the tax funds about half of the authority's operations.
Where to vote
The town notes that Ross no longer has its own polling place. Residents can vote at any Marin County vote center.
