Palantir, best known for selling data analytics to governments, sold out a Korea-exclusive $170 windbreaker within hours at a two-story pop-up in Seoul last week, Bloomberg reported via FashionNetwork.
The drop
- Where: The pop-up ran for two days starting Oct. 22 in Seoul's Hannam-dong with fall and winter merch under a "Sovereign AI" theme, The Asia Business Daily reported. Visitors could try on 15 types of items.
- Sales: Sales jumped 30% from 2025's event, according to Palantir head of engagement Eliano Younes. Last year's first Seoul pop-up drew more than 5,000 fans over two days, so this year the company added inventory, purchase limits and pre-registration.
- The hit item: A white nylon windbreaker Younes said would "look really nice on the golf course." Palantir has also sold tennis whites and a $239 French chore coat.
Why Korea
Younes said Korea has at times been Palantir's second-largest market for online merch after the U.S.; Palantir's Chad Walquist told The Asia Business Daily it ranks third worldwide. South Korean investors held about $4.584 billion of Palantir shares as of Oct. 19, according to the Korea Securities Depository.
"We take the merchandise very seriously," Younes said. "For a lot of these folks, the only time they'll ever really get to touch Palantir is through the merchandise."
