OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra on Monday, Oct. 26, and priced its standard API access 50% below GPT-5.6 Terra, according to Decrypt.
The model is available to Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Edu users in ChatGPT Work and in Codex. Developers can call it as gpt-6.1-terra. Free users get GPT-5.6 Luna.
OpenAI's figures, as reported by Decrypt and The Verge, show the factual-error rate at low effort falling from 53.6% to 16.7%, and to 4.3% at maximum effort. On the Terminal-Bench 4.0 benchmark, the new model scored 50.3%, compared with 21.5% for the earlier version.
The Verge highlighted the company's claims about computer use, meaning the model operating software on a user's behalf. These are OpenAI's own benchmark numbers and have not been independently verified.
