If you want to visit Muir Woods without driving the winding roads and hunting for a reservation slot, this weekend is your last easy chance of the year. The shuttle from the Larkspur Ferry Terminal runs on Saturdays and Sundays in October, according to the reservation site.

Shuttle details

  • Price: $4 round trip per adult; children 15 and under ride free
  • Where: Larkspur Ferry Terminal, 101 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
  • Reservations: required for both the outbound and return rides, and available up to three months ahead
  • Parking at Larkspur: free on weekends and federal holidays

After the shuttle season

Drivers need a parking reservation through GoMuirWoods.com. The National Park Service also charges a $15 entrance fee for everyone 16 and older; an annual Muir Woods pass is $45, and America the Beautiful passes are accepted.
