Kris Jenner wore the black velvet "Scorpio" cape linked to Elizabeth Taylor to the season 2 premiere of Hulu's All's Fair at the Rome Film Festival on Saturday, People and Vogue reported.

The history

  • The Tiziani Roma hooded cape has scorpions on the chest. Taylor wore it to Princess Grace of Monaco's 40th birthday "Scorpio Ball" in Monte Carlo in 1969, Vogue reported.
  • Christie's has suggested Karl Lagerfeld, then a freelance designer for Tiziani, may have designed it, according to Vogue.
  • The original sold at Christie's in 2011 as part of Taylor's collection, for $74,500, Vogue said.

Whose cape is it?

Kim Kardashian told fans the cape "belonged to Elizabeth Taylor, and my mom now owns it and graciously let me wear it in 'All's Fair,'" People reported. Vogue said it was unconfirmed whether Jenner wore the original or a recreation.

Kardashian, 46, wore it while filming season 2, in which she plays divorce lawyer Allura Grant. Jenner, 70, paired it with white gloves. Kardashian wore a leopard-print Yves Saint Laurent fall 1986 haute couture gown to the premiere, according to Vogue.

All's Fair season 2 debuts on Hulu with three episodes on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
