Drop boxes

The county's 43 official drop boxes, from Antioch City Hall to Kensington Community Center, have been open 24/7 since Oct. 4 and close at 8 p.m. sharp on Nov. 3. Each box weighs at least 500 pounds, two deputized employees collect ballots from them daily, and every box is inspected each day, the elections office says.

Mail and timing

Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and arrive within seven days. The county had advised voters who use the mail to send ballots by Oct. 23. It also says ballots received by Friday, Oct. 30, can be included in the Election Night results.
